PHOTOS: Supporters take to NYC’s Fifth Avenue to #March4Trump

Hundreds gathered near Trump Tower to stand in solidarity with the president.

Since the election, Trump Tower has become a major New York attraction.

It’s no surprise given that the gleaming 58-story skyscraper is home to both the Trump Organization and President Donald Trump’s primary residence, so tourists and activists alike can usually be seen converging on its surrounding blocks.

This Saturday was no different, but this time, the bulk of activists braving the city’s frigid temperatures were Trump supporters who came out as part of the natioanl #March4Trump movement, which is being held simultaneously in dozens of cities across the country.

They were on the east side of Fifth Avenue, waving American flags and alternated between chants of “U.S.A.! U.S.A!”; “Drain the swamp!”; “Build the wall!” and “Lock her up!”

The latter, of course, is an old standby from Trump’s campaign in which he often said his Democratic presidential contender Hillary Clinton should be jailed for her email server scandal.

“We’re here to say we’re supporting our president. He won the election,” Queens resident Tim, who was draped in an Israeli flag, told Metro. “We’re tired of all the leftists on the other side screaming about him not being their president.”

“He’s basically the voice of the people,” Dave from the Bronx said. “His main priority is the people. He’s fighting for us in Washington.”

Another Queens resident, a construction worker who often worked on Trump’s buildings around the city, said Trump “deserves his shot” and is “committed to excellence and can lead America in the right direction.”

When Metro was on site, anti-Trump activists for the most part were seen keeping to the west side of Fifth Avenue, though some filtered over to the pro-Trump side with signs that read “Rise and resist” and “Resign.”
